It was a long weekend , for there were 4 days of continuous holiday . It all began on a quite Thursday evening . The day was the 2 October, the day remembered for birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi . On this quite afternoon , we just happened to make a small plan for a trip to Madikeri ,a place around 200km far away , a place well known for the various tourist attractions it hosts .
Madikeri, formerly known as Muddu raja keri ,is a hill station town in Karnataka , which was initally named after the king Mudduraja , is a famous tourist spot in Karnataka . As time passed by , the name gradually shortened to Madikeri , or Mercara .
